JG Bilingual Playclub - Last Lesson

Reagan completed a term of Julia Gabriel Bilingual Playclub class and received his certificate last week.

Will start him on it soon...and I know he will love this as much as his other Phonics materials.

JG Bilingual Playclub- Daddy's Week

This is the only photo I took as I left the classroom once the lesson began. Daddy handled Reagan well without fuss, and most importantly he "survived" the two hours class alone with him today, thumbs up!

JG - Bilingual Playclub - Beach Play

The kids get to have fun at the beach for their outdoor play this week. It was the first time that Reagan sank his feet into the warm sand and he seemed pretty intimidated by the new experience. He would curl his legs up and whine for us to carry him. It took him some time to "warm up" with the sand before he was willing to stand by himself.

JG - Bilingual Playclub - CNY party + Sandplay

It was CNY class party for this week and the kids were dressed in their traditional costume! Each of them also brought along one of their favourite cny goodies to class.

JG - Bilingual Playclub

This year Reagan is "promoted" to the 2 hours weekly Bilingual PlayClub (18 mths-3yrs old) class from his PlayNest class last term. And for this term, his best friend Ean is joining him as well. The theme is "Transportation" and the lessons are conducted in both English and Mandarin by 4 teachers. One of the teachers who taught Reagan last term recognised him immediately once he entered the new classroom and Reagan was equally excited to see her too.

Each week the kids enjoy the music and dance, the introduction of an alphabet and a Chinese word, 2 segments of craft sessions, a short skit by the drama teachers, snack time and outdoor play at their very own playground area. Reagan is always eager to begin the craft session especially if it involves messy paint or sticky glue. Their teachers are also very entertaining and engaged well with the kids. They are so dramatic and expressive that sometimes their weekly short skit seems like an episode from Hi-5 haha!

During the first week of class, the kids get to explore the playground. This week was waterplay and they had so much fun!

The outdoor activity for next week is going to be sandplay and I'm sure the kids will be looking forward to it too.

JG Playnest, Reagan's last lesson

This week the teachers put up a puppet show for the kids and everyone enjoyed the short skit. 

The colour theme is grey and Reagan gets to play with grey paint mixed with flour.

It's a pity that Reagan missed his last week of lesson due to a high fever after our cruise trip. Sadly, he didn't get to enjoy the class's Xmas party and be inside the class photo too. However, he is promoted to the Bilingual Playnest next year, and I know he can't wait to continue his class after the term break.

JG Playnest Wk 6 + 7

Week 6 is purple theme and week 7 is the white theme. Sadly, my Hp died on me and all the photos taken were stuck in it. Anyway, some observations from these 2 weeks that I like to record...

- Baby Reagan is following the class routine well. He knew what to expect next, such as keeping away toys before class starts, and washing hands before snacks, returning the snack bowl to the teacher after he had finished and etc.

- He looks forward to every craft session. He understood and followed the instructions given by his teachers and able to do his work independently.

- During the songs and movement , baby Reagan recognized most of the new songs learned ( I sing them to him almost everyday) and able to do some of the finger-actions together in class.

- On week 6, Teacher Jaq commented that Reagan has good attention span in class, especially during the story-telling time and asked if I've been reading to him often at home as well.

- On week 7, Teacher Andrea praised Reagan for always being very well-behaved in class. He is very responsive to his teachers and able to interact well with other babies.

There are still 4 more weeks left for this term. Next year he will be promoted to the Playclub and I've finally decided to sign him up for the 2 hrs weekly Bilingual Playclub session, which includes Mandarin this time. Well, I hope my 18mths old  (corrected 16.5 mths) baby boy will continue to enjoy and have lots of fun in class with me!

JG Playnest Week 5

The Orange Week

I always felt so touched & proud of my baby boy when he does his work independently. It's like reminding me that soon, baby Reagan doesn't need me to attend school with him anymore ....*sniff* *wipe tears*

Daddy ended work early and picked us up for dinner. Baby Reagan amazingly behaved like an angel at the restaurant today. He sat quietly on the sofa beside me, browsing his Baby Signing Time charts while daddy and mummy enjoy their japanese hotpot, haha! At times he would turn to me and want me to show him a certain sign, after that his attention goes back to the cards again. 

One of the "aunty" waitress stopped at our table and commented how lucky we are that our boy can sit and read by himself without disturbing us. I bet she haven't seen this angel turning into a demon, and this was only one of the pretty rare times he could sit throughout. Usually his time limit is only half an hour before he starts whining to get down. We guessed that probably the class that he attended earlier has drained up his energy, so he just want some relaxing resting time for himself now haha! 

But still , baby boy made his daddy very proud!

JG Playnest Week 4

Lesson 7

Baby Reagan loves the story-telling today because it is one of his favourite books, titled "Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Eric Carle. I used to read to him using flashcards and he simply adore it. Today the teacher read the same story to him and he focused really well from the very first page to the last.

Craft session today is bubbles-printing. The teacher blew the bubbles solution to create bubbles for the babies to print on their paper.

My boy came as little Superman today, which also fits the blue theme.

JG Playnest Week 3

Lesson 5

I noticed that by this week, baby Reagan is already familiar with the routine in class. When the teacher stopped the background music and sang the clean up song, without any of my promptings, he crawled to the front by himself and helped to keep the toys inside the baskets. Good job my darling!

The babies were supposed to paint using a damp sponge but baby Reagan refused to even touch it. He did not like the texture of the wet sponge at all. So this time I've to help him with the activity. I allowed him to use his fingers and palms to spread the paint instead. 

Lesson 6

Today is another round of messy paint, but this time it's on the bubblewrap

The babies get to stick recycled items like straws, wrappers and papers which are all yellow in colour, on the sticky board. Baby Reagan enjoyed this sticking activity too. 

My darling boy is in an awesome mood today. Hubs got off early from work and waited outside his class to pick us home later. Therefore baby Reagan was really surprised and excited to see daddy at the playground during his outdoor play. He spotted daddy from a distance and began smiling and giggling instantly. 

JG Playnest Week 2

Lesson 3

Earlier we had a movie session together and initially I wonder if baby Reagan would be too tired for class later. My worries were unfounded as once he reached class, he started crawling around in excitement, looking for his favorite toys.

Baby Reagan enjoyed the craft session today; spreading the glue with a paintbrush before using fingers to rub the green salts over the paper. 

I'm so proud of my baby boy. He was able to follow the steps well and did everything by himself. 

During the outdoor play session, I found the mini ballpit back again!

The teachers brought in the keyboard and as usual baby Reagan excitedly raced towards it with the other kids.

Lesson 4

Today 's craft session is paining using a hairbrush ! Baby Reagan understood what to do after the teacher's demonstration. Once I put him at his table, he immediately reached out for the brush, dipped it into the paint and began his artwork.

 But soon he realised it was definitely more fun to use his fingers instead haha....

There was a sandpit during the outdoor play today! I've yet  to expose Reagan to sand-play and thought he would enjoy touching the sand. However he seemed to show no interest and preferred to crawl into the same ballpit instead.

Baby Reagan can stand well and has also began to take a few small walking steps by himself, especially during the music and dance segment. He is really taking his time in his walking skill but I knew he is going to succeed very soon. I cant wait for the day he is able to sprint into my open arms :)
