Bibinogs Term 2 - Lesson 10

This week is baby Reagan's last lesson for term 2 at Bibinogs! I'm sure he is going to miss his lessons and also his dear teachers who have nothing but lots of praises for him as always. He had came to class without his nap and surprisingly it did not affect his attention span and able to participate actively in all segments of the activities today. 

 Today craft-time is mixing blue and yellow paint to create the colour green. Baby Reagan is enjoying his snacks while listening to his teacher's instructions.

Since his day 1 in class till now, he is still so much in love with his phonics and alphabets and shows so much enthusiasm EVERY time his teacher recite the phonics chant for him. 

Baby Reagan is described as a calm, observant and smiley baby, with good ability to focus and engaged well to his teachers and lessons. 

 We truly enjoy the two terms of lessons with Bibinogs and along the way, we learned so much from each other and also cherish the bonding time we had together. There are some songs we learnt from the school and till now Baby Reagan will smile or wave his arms in excitement when I sing them to him. And of course his favourite animals phonics which he is so obsessed with that both his daddy and I memorized and recite to him everyday. 

Still, it's time we get to explore other enrichment schools and work on cultivating his other areas of interest. Probably in future he will return to join the older toddler programme.

I was also told that his teachers are constantly checking out this blog for his updates, so baby Reagan shall use this chance to say "HELLO" and wants you all to know that he is definitely missing all of you! :)

Bibinogs Term 2 - Lesson 8

Today is baby boy's makeup lesson from the previous week that we missed. We reached the school early and I allowed him to crawl around the classroom first while waiting for his classmate. And today is also the first time he kissed his classmate on her lips when she came over to give him a hug. Awww...well i hoped the baby's girl mama doesn't mind though...haha!

 Letter of the week is "Q" and our new friend today is Queensie Queen Bee. The babies enjoyed the "buzzing" sound that everyone made in class together.

 Letter of the week is "P" and we had PingPing Panda! Usually baby Reagan doesn't show much interest in soft toys or puppets, however today he displayed more affection to PingPing Panda. When the teacher announced that she is going to keep the panda away, he reached out his hand and tried to give it one last gentle pat, then he turned around and looked at me with his bambi-eyes and smiled.....aww....my boy is such a cutie...

For craft time, the teacher brought out the Potato for the kids to do some printing. I've no idea why baby Reagan is so amused by the potato. He smiled and chuckled each time he looked down at the potato he was holding. Something about the potato seemed very funny to him and I cant help it but to giggle along.

While waiting for daddy to pick us up after class, I put him on the lion car ride and pushed him around the front of the school counter.

Bibinogs Term 2- Lesson 5

Mummy is a little under the weather today, so daddy had to take baby Reagan for at least the first half of the lesson.

 Baby Reagan was distracted by his pretty classmate sitting opposite him. And that's Valerie, his bestie in class and they always look so cute interacting with each other.

During Bubble-time, baby Reagan excitedly crawled to the front to join the other babies catching bubbles. He couldn't stand up by himself yet, so he tried to reach for the bubbles by pulling onto teacher's pants, and it also looked as though he was begging the teacher to blow the bubbles to him haha! Daddy and I found it really amusing.

 Letter of this week is "O", so we had Olive the Otter in class today. All the babies rushed to the front to give Olive a pat and a hug.

Today we are going to make an Octopus! I held baby Reagan's hands while we do the painting together and again, he did not resist at all! No whining or struggling. Instead he sat quietly on my lap and observed carefully as we completed the artwork together. Good job baby! You behaved very well today!

And also during today's lesson, I noticed that baby Reagan is attempting to clap! Usually every end of an activity or music, everyone would clap and cheer together. And today, I notice each time we finished a song, baby Reagan would try to put his hands together and shake them, as though he is trying to join in the clapping and cheering. Even the teachers noticed his new actions as well!

Dear baby, I'm so glad that you've shown me how much you enjoy your class. 

Still, daddy and I made the decision not to continue after this term ends, due to the overseas trip next month and also, we like to explore other schools and expose him to different environment. However I'm sure in future we'll be back to join the class, maybe when he is ready for the older toddlers group.

Bibinogs Term 2 - Lesson 4

Baby Reagan is back to the Siglap branch for his lesson this week and today two new classmates came to join as a trial. As usual once we entered the classroom, he immediately crawled to the play mat, picked up his ring hoops and started swinging it around.

Baby Reagan now enjoys shaking the egg shakers during the music and movement segment. Even at home, he seems to obtain the new habit of shaking anything he picks up, just to check if they make any sounds.

During the story telling, he kept turning around to look at me, then climbed up and wrapped his arms around my neck. He doesn't seem very attentive to the storybook reading. I knew he wants mummy to cuddle him a while, so I put him on my lap and hugged him from behind while we continued listening to the story. Recently baby boy has been slightly more clingy, or I rather call it affectionate. Many times he demands cuddles by either wrapping his arms around our neck or climbing onto us and resting his head on our chest, lap or tummy. This little one year old of mine can easily just melt my heart like that.

 Letter of the week is "N" and the teacher introduced "Nelly" the Nightingale. I was looking forward to use the paintbrush for this week's craft session, especially when last week Reagan showed excitement when he was handed the paintbrush and attempt to paint for the very first time. However this week craft session doesn't required us to use any paintbrush. Instead we were supposed to print colourful polka dots onto a "Necktie" using the cork and paints. Although Reagan doesn't show much enthusiasm, at least he did not resist when I tried to hold his hand and did the artwork together.

Zoolander Phonics is still his top favorite and every lesson, and I really meant it by every single lesson from the first day we joined the school, he always pay 100% attention to the phonics recitation. His teachers are aware and always look forward to see how engrossed he can get. He really love his alphabets and gets excited when the sounds of each letter are made. Of course I've already memorized the zoolander phonics as well and recite it to him everyday.

Bibinogs Term 2- Lesson 3

Among all the toys in class, he is only attracted to these ring hoops and would grab on to it till the teachers get them to keep away the toys. Another boy in class today laid his eyes on the same ring hoops and I was surprised that baby Reagan tried to grab it back from him. Usually regardless how much he like a certain toy, he will sit and observe quietly till the other kid lose interest then he would crawl over to pick it up. Luckily there were a few ring hoops to go around, so I whispered to Reagan, "Share baby, we must share ok?." and encouraged him to pass one to his classmate. I think now it's a good time to get him started on the good habit of sharing.

 Today is Letter "M", we met Molly the Moose and for craft session, we painted the Mouse grey. My baby boy made me proud today because finally for the first time, he wants to paint!!! Once the teacher placed the paintbrush in front of him, he lunged forward to grab it and started jabbing on the picture of the mouse. This time I tried not to hold his hands and allow him to try to do the work all by himself. Well, until he started to wave the paintbrush around like a flag and stained his face and mouth again. That's when I stopped him and cleaned him up before blowing kisses all over his cheeks and neck.

Bibinogs term 2- Lesson 2

 Letter of this week is "L" for Lester Lion and for craft session we're supposed to paint a picture of a Leopard and use our fingers to print spots on it. As usual baby Reagan refused to be involved in the artwork. He doesn't even want to touch the paint brush at all. So mummy put him on her lap and patiently showed him how it was done.

Daddy accompanied baby Reagan during bubbles time and he truly enjoyed it.

Bibinogs term 2- Lesson 1

We are back to Bibinogs for Term 2 ! Baby Reagan is an active crawling baby now and trying to get him to be seated throughout the lessons is not an easy breezy feat anymore.It's like a new challenge for both of us!

He is more clingy to me as well, and enjoys climbing and swinging around me. When I made him sit on the mat, he would always turn back to look at me, giggle cheekily then wrap his arms around me again to pull himself up and start climbing over me again. He kind of think it's fun to struggle with me in class, probably because I always end up tickling his tummy and kissing his neck while whispering in his ear "You little naughty monkey!"And he will do it again to get my attention once more.

Term 2 doesn't make a very big difference for him in terms of his preference of activities in class. He is still obsessed with the alphabets and phonics....and still hates Craft-time! He finds it more interesting to watch me do the artwork and will get mad at me if I try to encourage him to contribute to his work. Anyway this week is letter "K", so we had Kiki Koala and for craft-time we took turn to "KICK" the balls before using them to paint.

Now other than Phonics, his next favourite activity is BUBBLES TIME! I remember the time when he preferred to sit down quietly and observed the teachers blowing the bubbles while other babies chased after them excitedly. I would then carry him and stretch out his hands to touch the bubbles and in response he gives me that frowny face. And now, I can see he is genuinely loving bubbles as much as the other older babies. With his cute giggles and smiles and his outstretched hands trying to catch the bubbles all by himself......it melts my heart and reminds me that my baby is not a tiny little infant anymore, he is a grown BABY! haha!

Bibinogs Term 1 - Lesson 10

Today is Reagan's last lesson for this term at Bibinogs Playschool. We had a big group of 7 babies in class! I couldn't blame him for being distracted by the screeching and wailing noises and other babies moving around. During the lesson, my cheeky monkey was so eager to explore and move around with the other babies too and I made efforts to get his attention back many times.

Probably only during the story-telling time and phonics recitation, he is more willing to be seated on the mat. And now, he would struggle for me to let go of his hands when we do the actions songs together. He shows that he wants to do it himself and doesn't want me to help him anymore...oh well. Even for the craft time, we were supposed to paint the sea blue and paste jellyfish but baby Reagan was trying what he can do to "destroy" his artwork. His cheeky mischievous face tells it all...

Surprisingly baby Reagan showed more patience for the mandarin lesson today. Instead of trying to crawl or turn away as usual, he cuddled up to me, sat on my lap throughout the entire mandarin story-telling and all the songs and poems recitations. I guessed he had drained out all his energy during the English segment and was getting too tired and sleepy to move. As expected, after I popped in his pacifier and pat him with his pillow, he snoozed away within seconds.

Letter of the week is "J", and we had Jam Jam Joey!

Bibinogs Term 1 - Lesson 9

 Baby Reagan is at the stage of learning to crawl and stand, therefore today he is so eager to "show-off" his new skill to his teachers. Throughout the lesson, he would eagerly get on all fours to attempt to crawl whenever he had the chance. Or else he would turn towards me, put him arms around me to pull himself up to stand. Usually during the free-play time, he can sit on the mat by himself and play with the toys quietly before the class starts. But now, he prefers to move around and explore! Today my boy is an active and curious little monkey !

Today is letter "I" and we made an Igloo out from a plastic bowl and some cotton pads. Mummy tried to help baby Reagan to brush the glue on it. Halfway through, he lost patience and started slapping his other hand on the plate of white glue. Poor mummy needs to clean him up again and finish the artwork for him.

The teacher brought out an Iguana puppet today which I thought was pretty cool but Reagan seems to have no interest and wouldn't even bother to look at it. And he used it as an "excuse" to crawl away..

Finally once the teacher whipped out the phonics flashcards, baby Reagan's eyes widen and he returned back to his sitting position.
As the teacher recite the phonics chant, he began smiling and moving his arms in excitement again.

 

 

He is totally obsessed with alphabets and flashcards, you can witness how much he enjoys the phonics segment.

Letter I, Iggy Iguana

 And also this week then I found out from his teacher that all these while they are doing the ZOOLANDER Phonics and not ZOO-PHONICS. Well, the only difference is the type of animals associated to the alphabets.

Bibinogs Term 1 - Lesson 8

 Reagan baby, you helped teacher to put the toys back into the box during the clean-up time! Good job sweety!

 

 Today's letter of the week is "H", and the teacher introduced Harry Hippo to the class! Reagan is still not a fan of soft toy but I managed to get him to give Harry Hippo a big "hi-5".

For craft-time we painted a picture of a Hotdog! There was supposed to be "chilli" and "mustard" stick on it but it got tore off when we reached home.
